Scholarships and Governors’ Assisted Places

The school has a large number of scholarships and Assisted Places, so that over 20% of girls  in the school have some kind of financial assistance. Most of these awards are made to girls  at 11+, but they are also available at 16+.

Scholarships are awarded to the outstanding performers in the entrance examination. They range in value from 50% of the fees to 20%.

Governors’ Assisted Places are awarded to girls who are eligible for financial support. Such financial support is given in proportion to the family’s income on a sliding scale. In some cases girls receive full remission of fees, and from September 2007 the maximum income at which support is available is £68,000.

The places are awarded on the basis of performance in the entrance examination and eligibility which is assessed from the completion of forms by the family about their financial situation.

If you have any questions about the Governors’ Assisted Places Scheme, please contact

Mrs. Andronikou at the Foundation Office on 0121 415 6001 or by email to ma.andronikou@ske.uk.net.

Girls who win scholarships may also be eligible for support through the Governors’ Assisted Places Scheme.

It is possible to download the table that shows the Assisted Places sliding scale from this site (or from www.kehs.org.uk).

In addition, there is also substantial financial support available for pupils through the generosity of sponsors and former pupils.
