Independent Schools - Fees Assistance

The King Edward Foundation is committed to opening the independent schools as wide as possible to all the academically most able children regardless of parental family income. The Foundation contributes approximately £1,400,000 a year to provide bursaries and scholarships for the two schools.

Most of this money goes towards the Governors’ Remission Scheme. This is means tested and the level of reduced fees is based on gross family income and takes into account the number of dependent children.

Parents are requested to complete income and capital forms each year and to provide documentary evidence to support their application.

To calculate the level of fees payable, please click here for the table of scales currently applying. All families whose gross income falls under £68,000 may be eligible for assistance.

Some scholarships are awarded each year to the most able that are not means tested.The schools benefit from the generosity of some businesses and trusts who contribute to the bursary scheme.

At present, we thank amongst others the Ogden Trust, IMI, Pinsents and HSBC for contributing so generously, allowing the two schools to ensure that those children most academically able can attend these top schools irrespective of parental income.
